A closer look.

This private shore excursion offers cruise passengers calling at Safaga Port a dedicated diving day on the Red Sea. Certified scuba divers complete two guided boat dives with a divemaster, with private port transfers included. Non-certified travellers should enquire in advance to see whether an introductory try-dive can be arranged.

Safaga is situated on Egypt's northern Red Sea coast, south of Hurghada. Dive sites are chosen on the day by the dive team according to prevailing sea conditions and divers' experience. Depending on the weather and marine conditions, the boat may visit well-known Safaga reefs, such as Panorama Reef, Abu Kafan, Middle Reef, or Tobia Arbaa (Seven Pillars).

Guided dives normally require a recognised diving certification and a recent logged dive. Non-certified guests should ask whether an introductory try-dive can be arranged instead, though this is not promised. A short medical questionnaire is usually required, and the dive centre has final say on fitness and diving conditions. The daily programme works backwards from your cruise ship's all-aboard time with a built-in safety margin. Dives may be shortened or cancelled if ship disembarkation is delayed or the sea is rough, and return times cannot be promised.

  • Private round-trip road transfers between Safaga Port and the dive marina
  • Day boat trip along Egypt's northern Red Sea coast
  • Two guided reef dives accompanied by a qualified divemaster
  • Tanks and weights provided by the dive centre
  • Schedule planned backwards from your cruise ship's all-aboard time

Your itinerary.

Timings are coordinated around pickup, access and your agreed arrangements.

01

Port pickup and marina transfer

Your private driver meets you at the agreed meeting point at Safaga Port once passengers are cleared to go ashore. You take a short road transfer to the nearby dive marina, where you complete registration, present your diving credentials, and meet your divemaster.

02

Boat departure and morning reef dive

Board the daily dive boat and motor out to the first mooring selected by the dive team based on the morning's wind, swell, and visibility. Following an orientation and dive briefing from your divemaster, you gear up and complete your first guided dive along the reef.

03

Surface interval, lunch, and afternoon dive

Relax during a surface interval as the boat relocates to a second dive site. Lunch and soft drinks are served on board if confirmed in your quotation. You then complete your second guided reef dive with your guide.

04

Return cruise and port transfer

The boat cruises back to the Safaga marina in the afternoon. Collect your belongings and join your private driver for the return transfer to Safaga Port, timed with an intentional safety buffer ahead of your cruise ship's all-aboard deadline.

Included in the proposal.

  • Private round-trip road transfers between Safaga Port and the dive marina
  • Day boat trip with experienced crew and divemaster guidance
  • Two guided boat dives on Red Sea reefs for certified divers

The practical details.

Private rates per person

Solo traveller: USD 232 | 2 guests: USD 145 per person | 3 to 5 guests: USD 119 per person | 6 or more guests: USD 102 per person. Children under 6 years are complimentary; children 6–11 receive a 50% discount.

Port clearance and all-aboard buffer

When submitting an enquiry, please provide your cruise ship name, date of call, scheduled docking arrival time, and mandatory all-aboard time. Port immigration and security clearance can take variable time upon arrival. The daily programme is organised backwards from your ship's all-aboard time with a safety buffer. If disembarkation is delayed or marine weather is unfavourable, dives may be shortened or cancelled to prioritise your return to port. Fixed return times cannot be promised.

What to bring

Certified divers must bring their physical or digital diving certification card and a logbook showing recent dives. All guests should bring swimwear, a towel, reef-safe sunscreen, and sunglasses. You are welcome to bring personal dive gear (such as a mask, dive computer, or wetsuit); rental equipment can also be arranged.

Photos and confirmed arrangements

Photos illustrate the Red Sea coast and are not the allocated dive boat or marina. Your quotation confirms the transport, boat, dives and equipment included in your booking.

The written quotation takes precedence over this suggested programme. Check the final services, guiding arrangements and any optional costs before confirming.

Good to know.

Do I need to be certified?

Yes, taking part in the two guided reef dives requires an internationally recognised certification (such as PADI, SSI, or CMAS) and a recent logged dive. Non-certified travellers should ask whether an introductory try-dive can be arranged instead. The dive centre has final say on fitness and sea conditions.

Can beginners join?

Beginners without scuba certification cannot join the certified guided dives. You may enquire whether an introductory try-dive programme with an instructor is available on your date, though this cannot be promised. All participants must complete a short medical questionnaire, and the dive centre has final say on suitability.

What is the minimum age for scuba diving?

The minimum age for scuba diving is commonly 10 years with junior certification, depending on the training agency. Junior divers are subject to shallower depth limits and must dive with a certified adult or professional. Please confirm specific age policies and requirements with the dive centre when requesting a quote.

Which dive sites will we visit?

Dive sites are chosen on the day by the dive team according to sea conditions and divers' experience. Safaga features diverse northern Red Sea reefs, such as Panorama Reef, Abu Kafan, Middle Reef, and Tobia Arbaa (Seven Pillars). The boat skipper and divemaster decide the daily route based on wind, waves, and safety.

Will we be back before the ship leaves?

The excursion schedule works backwards from your cruise ship's all-aboard time with an added safety margin. Because port clearance and sea states can vary, dives may be shortened or cancelled if disembarkation is late or the sea is rough. Return times cannot be promised, but returning you to port before all-aboard is the priority.

Can non-divers come along to snorkel?

Non-diving companions or snorkellers may be able to join the boat trip depending on deck capacity and the dive sites visited, but this is not promised. Please ask during your initial enquiry so we can verify boat space and include non-diver pricing in your written quotation.

Is equipment included?

Tanks and weights are included. Full rental equipment (wetsuit, BCD, regulator, mask, fins) is available and should be confirmed in your quotation. If you prefer to bring personal dive equipment, you are welcome to do so.

What are the rates?

Private rates per person are: Solo traveller: USD 232 | 2 guests: USD 145 per person | 3 to 5 guests: USD 119 per person | 6 or more guests: USD 102 per person. All transfers between the port and marina are private.

Where will we be picked up?

The permitted meeting point at Safaga Port, coordinated with your ship's arrival. Your exact meeting details are agreed before travel.

How is my booking confirmed?

Send an enquiry first. We review availability and provide a written quotation with the itinerary, services, price and booking conditions. Sending the form does not reserve a service.

Keep exploring.
